SPANISH GOLD:  Songs of the Iberian Peninsula

The Iberian Peninsula, rich with the multifarious traditions of Castile, Catalonia, Andalusia, Galicia, the Basque country, and the Sephardic homelands, yields up its treasures in this program of song from the Romantic era to our own time.  Included are works by Granados, Sor, Montsalvatge, Nin, Toldrà, Guridi, Mompou and many others.  Members of Caramoor’s 2011 Vocal Rising Stars program will perform, in partnership with New York Festival of Song, with pianists Steven Blier and Michael Barrett.
